After gutting USAID, Trump administration commits $2B to faith-based global aid

Following sweeping cuts to USAID and other U.S. foreign-aid programs, the Trump administration has committed nearly $2 billion to faith-based and community organizations for global health and humanitarian assistance. The package includes up to $850 million over five years for a World Vision-led Faith and Community Initiative and $538 million for Samaritan’s Purse and a consortium co-led by World Vision and Compassion International. Another $570 million will support community and faith-based hospitals and clinics, bringing health funding to $1.4 billion. The aid will support roughly 2,500 facilities and tens of thousands of community health workers across more than a dozen countries.
