Arlene Evans and Barry Dewberry have awarded a record $17.5 million gift to VHC Health in Arlington, Virginia, to expand cancer care and outpatient services. The philanthropic gift will rename VHC’s outpatient pavilion the Arlene Evans and Barry Dewberry Outpatient Pavilion and fund a new cancer center, expected to open in summer 2028. The center will consolidate oncology services and serve more than 2,000 patients annually, offering medical, radiation and surgical oncology, diagnostics, research, infusion therapy, palliative care and survivorship services. The gift builds on the couple’s $3 million award to VHCH in 2023.
