Jacob Foundation commits $3.5M for Detroit neighborhood-based college access initiative

Troy Michigan’s Jamie and Denise Jacob Family Foundation has committed $3.5 million to launch Graduate 313, a partnership with the Detroit College Access Network aimed at helping residents enter and complete college and career programs with the goal of advancing individual and community economic mobility. The three-year investment will establish neighborhood hubs offering one-on-one advising, emergency grants, wraparound services and college visits. Graduate 313–named for Detroit’s principal area code–aims to reach 5,000 residents in its first year, serving middle school students through adult learners.
