OMRF receives NIH $12.8M to advance cellular metabolism and chronic disease research

The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation has received a $12.8 million, five-year grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of General Medical Sciences through its Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence program. The funding will establish OMRF’s Center for Cellular Metabolism Research, supporting four early career scientists studying how cellular metabolism contributes to aging, heart disease, autoimmune disorders, and other chronic conditions. The grant also aims to strengthen Oklahoma’s biomedical research capacity by providing mentorship, professional development, and advanced research infrastructure for emerging investigators.
