Kaiser Permanente commits $10M to expand youth mental health support nationwide

Kaiser Permanente has announced a $10 million grant to Youth Mental Health Corps to expand peer-based mental health support for teenagers and strengthen the behavioral health workforce pipeline. The grant will initially scale programs in California, Maryland and Oregon before expanding across Kaiser Permanente’s nine-state footprint, with the goal of reaching an additional 200,000 youth nationwide. In partnership with the Schultz Family Foundation and Pinterest, Kaiser Permanente will fund peer navigator training, broaden access to nonclinical mental health services, and support traditional clinical care through trusted youth-to-youth engagement.
