Windgate Foundation commits $4M to expand University of Alabama book arts scholarships

Windgate Foundation has announced a $4 million grant to The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to strengthen its book arts program through expanded student support. The award builds on the foundation’s original $1 million investment in 2005 and will expand graduate fellowships, create assistantships, increase targeted scholarships, and upgrade studio equipment. The enhanced endowment will help reinforce the program’s national standing and strengthen recruitment and improve access to the nation’s longest-running book arts MFA program while supporting its growing undergraduate minor and graduate certificate offerings.
