DataPhilanthropy–the family foundation of Jeff Green, founder of The Trade Desk, a Ventura, California, advertising technology company, has announced an $8.5 million gift to Food Share in Oxnard to support construction of a new $50 million food bank facility. The award will serve as a lead gift to fund the new 85,000-square-foot distribution center designed to expand regional hunger-relief capacity. Food Share currently serves more than 250,000 food-insecure people annually, but was forced to turn away nearly 8 million pounds of food last year due to space constraints. The new facility will increase storage, distribution, and long-term food access across Ventura County.
