Motown Museum in Detroit, Michigan, has received a $1 million award from the Links Foundation to support the museum’s $75 million expansion. The funds bring the campaign within $2 million of its fundraising goal and will help complete the museum’s 50,000-square-foot expanded campus, scheduled to open in 2027. The project will add exhibition galleries, interactive experiences, a performance theater, recording studios and educational spaces through the Hitsville NEXT initiative, preserving Motown’s cultural legacy while expanding year-round programming, attracting more visitors and strengthening Detroit’s North End neighborhood.
