Anara Impact Capital, an impact investment group spun out of theUK-based Alfanar Venture Philanthropy, has announced the launch of an €80 million ($92.3 million) social entrepreneurship fund supporting community-focused enterprises across the Middle East and North Africa. KfW Development Bank, on behalf of the European Commission, and Germany’s Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development have provided €45 million in anchor funding, with additional participation from Dara Holdings, Saudi investor Lubna Olayan, the Jordan-based ISSF, and other private investors. The fund expects to serve more than 136,000 people and aims to unlock €67 million in additional capital, backing early-stage and growth social ventures in sectors including education, livelihoods, and refugee support services.
