Yawkey Foundation awards $50M to Dana-Farber for new hospital and next-gen cancer care and research

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston has announced a $50 million award from the Yawkey Foundation to support development of a new cancer-focused hospital and to boost a fund to drive next-generation care and research. The funding will help advance construction of a 14-story, 450,000-square-foot facility with 300 private inpatient rooms that will become New England’s only dedicated adult cancer hospital. The grant will also support efforts to accelerate innovation in oncology including early-detection initiatives, survivorship programs, psychosocial services, and patient assistance. The award is the largest in Yawkey Foundation history and builds on an eight-decade partnership with Dana Farber.
