Virginia Tech has announced a record $75 million commitment from an anonymous four-generation alumni family to strengthen athletics and expand academic opportunities at the school’s honors college. The gift–the largest in the university’s history–directs the majority of funding to Virginia Tech Athletics for unrestricted athletic priorities and Hokie Ventures, a new nonprofit for strategic investments to sustain VT athletic competitiveness. Funding to the honors college will back the Calhoun Honors Discovery Program’s interdisciplinary, real-world learning model, creating long-term athletic support while accelerating educational innovation and student development across the university.
