The foundation of NVIDIA founder Jensen Huang and his wife, Lori, has committed $108.3 million as an in-kind donation through the purchase of computing time from CoreWeave–an AI cloud infrastructure provider–and donating access to universities and nonprofit research institutes. The arrangement provides recipients no-cost high-performance AI computing resources for science and machine learning research alongside additional engineering support from NVIDIA. The transaction reinforces NVIDIA’s financial and operational ties to CoreWeave, a key partner of Meta, OpenAI, and Anthropic. The move comes amid growing public scrutiny of circular investments in the AI sector, as chipmakers deepen strategic relationships across the AI computing ecosystem.
