$22.2 million in federal funds boosts Osage and Choctaw nation broadband expansion in rural Oklahoma

Tribal nations in Oklahoma have received $22.2 million rom the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration to expand broadband infrastructure. The Osage Nation secured $17.5 million to deploy 110 miles of fiber connecting 176 locations and advance digital sovereignty. The Choctaw Nation received $4.7 million to install 36 miles of fiber optic lines serving 52 homes and the Monroe School District boosting USDA broadband investments in the Choctaw Nation to $27 million, advancing education, telehealth, and sovereignty through rural connectivity efforts statewide.
