Walmart Foundation $1.2M backs Jones Center volunteer hub to boost civic engagement

The Walmart Foundation in Bentonville, Arkansas, has awarded a $1.2 million grant to the Jones Center for Families in Springdale, Arkansas, to establish a regional volunteer center. The initiative is a collaboration with the Jones Center and Tyson Foods as an operational partner. The volunteer center’s services will launch in phases beginning in 2027 with two area locations. The program aims to increase regional volunteer participation, strengthen nonprofit capacity, and improve community resilience by building civic engagement. The center will connect residents with volunteer opportunities, help nonprofits recruit and manage volunteers, provide training, and create centralized efforts to streamline service matching across the region.
