Mount Sinai receives $5M from Colton family to advance precision autoimmune research

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City has announced a $5 million gift from Judith and Stewart Colton to establish the Colton Center for Autoimmunity to be housed within part of the medical school’s Lipschultz Precision Immunology Institute. The funding will help advance ongoing efforts to accelerate early disease detection, biomarker discovery, AI-enabled research and development of targeted therapies for autoimmune diseases. The new center will be part of the international Colton Consortium for Autoimmunity, expanding cross-institutional collaboration and data sharing to speed translation of research into clinical care for the more than 15 million Americans affected by autoimmune diseases.
