Philadelphia Cultural Fund awards $5.6M to 322 groups, girds for drastic cuts in 2027

The Philadelphia Cultural Fund, the city’s arts funding agency, has announced $5.6 million in grants to 322 arts and culture organizations, supporting groups including Bearded Ladies Cabaret, Wagner Free Institute of Science and Shakespeare in Clark Park. The grants provide unrestricted operating support, with awards ranging from $12,000 to $23,000, helping organizations sustain programming and expand access across the city. The announcement comes as the fund faces a reduction in city support from $5 million to $3.5 million for the coming fiscal year, which could result in grants to as many as 100 fewer organizations in 2027.
