Backed by Mellon, ACLS awards 2026 digital justice grants in humanities and social science

The American Council of Learned Societies has announced its 2026 ACLS Digital Justice awards, funding 15 humanities and social science projects. The program, funded by the Mellon Foundation, includes eight seed grants of up to $25,000 each and seven development grants of up to $100,000 each to advance digital scholarship centered on people of color and other historically marginalized communities. Recipients also receive long-term financial planning support through the Nonprofit Finance Fund, helping strengthen the sustainability and impact of innovative digital humanities projects.
