Arnold Ventures awards $2.6M to study social effects of sports betting across U.S.

Arnold Ventures has announced $2.6 million in research grants to 12 research teams at organizations including Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Urban Institute in Washington, D.C., as well as several other universities to examine the impacts of legalized sports betting in the United States. The grants will fund independent studies on financial well-being, mental health, consumer behavior, household formation, and state tax revenues while evaluating strategies to reduce gambling-related harm. The three-year initiative aims to provide policymakers with evidence to guide sports betting legalization, regulation, and consumer protection decisions.
