Asian American Foundation launches initiative to expand AAPI representation on corporate boards

The Asian American Foundation has announced a $1.5 million commitment, including a $1 million multiyear grant from the Walter and Shirley Wang Foundation, to launch a national initiative to increase the presence of Asian American and Pacific Islander executives in corporate boardrooms. TAAF is contributing an additional $500,000 to the Board Accelerator effort. The program will partner with executive data firm Equilar to identify, prepare, and connect board-qualified AAPI leaders with corporate board opportunities. The initiative aims to strengthen governance readiness, expand executive visibility, and address the gap between AAPI workforce representation and board-level leadership at major U.S. companies.
