The Boston Children’s Museum has announced a $1 million award from the Yawkey Foundation to launch the first phase of BCM’s climate resilience campaign. The funding will help protect the museum’s critical utility systems from flooding linked to rising water levels along Fort Point Channel, which the museum abuts and has already experienced repeated inundation. Initial work includes waterproofing infrastructure, improving drainage systems, and safeguarding the building’s brick exterior. The project aims to ensure uninterrupted service for children and families while also bolstering resilience efforts in vulnerable neighborhoods surrounding the museum.
