Greater Milwaukee Foundation awards record $97M in 2025, bolstering community needs and services

The Greater Milwaukee Foundation has announced $96.9 million in grants to 2,028 nonprofit organizations across southeastern Wisconsin, marking the largest annual grantmaking total in its 110-year history. Supported by $84 million in donor contributions, the award addressed critical community needs including flood recovery, food insecurity, housing challenges, and critical nonprofit funding gaps. Investments included $17.8 million for education, $16.9 million for human services and $14.2 million for arts and culture. More than 71% of grant dollars remained in the Milwaukee-area region, strengthening local nonprofits and community services.
