NFWF, partners commit $50.3M for Great Plains grassland conservation and ranching resilience

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation has announced grants totaling $18.5 million backing 26 conservation and ranching projects across 11 Great Plains states and Saskatchewan, Canada, to protect grasslands, improve wildlife habitat, and strengthen ranching and tribal communities. The projects will help to improve ranch grazing practices and will protect more than 236,000 acres through easements and habitat agreements that support long-term sustainability for both working lands and wildlife. The funding includes support from the Bezos Earth Fund, Cargill, Sysco, and Burger King providing matching funds totaling $50.3 million that will generate $68.8 million in total conservation impact.
