Jennifer Gilbert, the wife of Rocket Mortgage founder Dan Gilbert, has raised $13.3 million through the auction at Sotheby’s of two paintings from her personal collection to fund her newly established Lumana Art Foundation, an arts and culture nonprofit in Detroit, Michigan. The proceeds will support the work of the nonprofit–located in the Stanton Yards development along the Detroit River–which aims to support artists, designers, and arts institutions across the city’s Little Village cultural corridor. The auction included the sale of Loom II by Joan Mitchell and Circle by Kenneth Noland. Gilbert and her husband are signatories of the Giving Pledge.
