University of Texas MD Anderson receives $19M for cancer research and  faculty recruitment and training

University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, has announced a more than $19 million grant from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas in support of cancer research, training, and faculty recruitment initiatives. The funding advances a statewide platform for adolescent and young adult cancer survivors, translational research projects, and a “Future of Cancer Research” training program for emerging scientists. The award includes $8 million to recruit three CPRIT Scholars as faculty. The funding will also support studies in immunotherapy, tumor biology, and precision oncology, strengthening Texas’s research infrastructure and accelerating translation from laboratory discovery to patient care across the state.
