Rockefeller Foundation commits $100M to national strategy creating jobs in AI, health care, and energy

Rockefeller Foundation has announced a $100 million grant commitment to support workforce and economic mobility initiatives across distressed communities in the United States, including collaboration with employers and local partners in places such as Baltimore, Maryland; rural Appalachia; and other high-need regions nationwide, to expand access to stable, good-paying jobs amid AI-driven disruption. The multiyear philanthropic investment supports a national “Good Jobs for America” strategy aimed at reaching up to 20 million people across 250 economically strained communities, generating an estimated 1.6 million jobs through scalable workforce models in healthcare, energy, food systems, and AI-enabled industries. The initiative focuses on job creation, training pathways, and policy integration.
