The University of Pennsylvania has received an $18 million, six-year grant from National Science Foundation to launch the AI-driven RNA Foundry, a collaborative hub accelerating RNA drug development. The initiative uses AI and automation to design and test lipid nanoparticles that deliver RNA therapies, reducing costly trial-and-error and speeding discovery timelines. The open source platform will help to lower technical barriers and enable cross-disciplinary research and development. The effort aims to scale innovation, improve predictive drug design, and expand access to new technologies, and accelerate the biomedical research pipeline.
