West Texas A&M campaign tops $208M to expand Scholarships, research, and campus infrastructure

West Texas A&M University in Canyon has announced the end of its One West campaign, having raised $208.6 million from 13,377 donors, surpassing a $125 million initial goal set in 2021; a second goal of $175 million was reached in September 2025. The campaign—fueled by a $24 million lead gift from the Engler Foundation (part of a larger $80 million gift)—will fund scholarships, endowed professorships, expanded research initiatives, and extensive campus infrastructure improvements. The effort has boosted the number of endowed chairs from 26 to 109, increased scholarships by 31.3% to over $8 million annually, and helped secure WT’s Carnegie Research College and University classification in 2025.
