USA Cycling receives $3.7M to address gender gap in performance science, coaching, and technology

USA Cycling Foundation has announced a $2.5M commitment from the Hellman Foundation, alongside nearly $1.2M raised—including a $500,000 gift from the Clarke Family Foundation—to the USA Cycling Foundation in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to build the Women’s Cycling Fund and quasi-endowment ahead of LA 2028. The multiyear gifts, including a $1.5M challenge match, fund performance science, coaching, and technology tailored to women—who have delivered 95% of U.S. Olympic cycling medals since 2012 despite limited investment compared to men. The effort aims to correct that imbalance, improve training and recovery, and sustain medal dominance.
