Mass General Brigham receives anonymous $50M gift drive cancer gene and cell therapy research

Mass General Brigham in Boston has announced a $50M anonymous gift to accelerate cancer research and next-generation gene and cell therapies. The funding will support the health system’s cancer institute, including expanded research and clinical spaces, apheresis and cell pharmacy facilities, and recruitment of global physician-scientists. The gift will also fund clinical trials across multiple diseases, translating breakthroughs like CAR T-cell therapy into patient care. By bolstering infrastructure, expert talent, and multidisciplinary programs, the funding will position Mass General Brigham to lead in cellular medicine, speed delivery of life-changing treatments, and tackle cancers and other complex diseases.
