The State Employees’ Credit Union’s SECU Foundation has announced nearly $6 million in grants and funding to 23 North Carolina nonprofits supporting housing, education, healthcare and human services statewide. Recipients include Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh in Garner, North Carolina, with a $2 million interest-free loan for affordable housing; Kintegra Health in Gastonia, North Carolina, with $750,000 to expand care for uninsured and underinsured residents across 17 counties; and North Carolina Community Colleges Foundation with $500,000 for workforce development. The grants span all eight economic regions and communities in all 100 counties, bringing SECU Foundation’s lifetime giving above $352 million.
