Missouri’s Salvation Army of Springfield receives $2M challenge grant from Mabee Foundation 

Missouri’s Salvation Army of Springfield has secured a $2 million challenge grant from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation to expand vital community services across the city. The award the nonprofit’s latest campaign to $15.8 million of its $20 million goal. The funding will support the development of a new shelter, customer-choice food pantry and warehouse, and an expanded family enrichment center. The projects will increase capacity for people facing homelessness, food insecurity, and other challenges. The shelter is expected to include 50 long-term, 10 short-term and 40 crisis beds.
