Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awards Pittsburgh Ballet $1M for artistic programming

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre has received $1 million in grant funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to advance the organization’s artistic programming in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The funding supports Artistic PBT’s multiyear vision, including new ballet works, a new 2027 production of The Nutcracker, expanded artistic collaborations, audience development, and greater accessibility. The grant also enables innovative programming designed to broaden community engagement while strengthening the company’s creative capacity and long-term artistic impact.
