Warren Buffett delays multibillion-dollar award to Gates Foundation pending external Epstein review

As reported by the Wall Street Journal, Warren Buffett has delayed his annual multibillion-dollar donation to the Gates Foundation as he awaits the results of the foundation’s external review of its past interactions with Jeffrey Epstein. The move was first signaled in a March interview with CNBC. The anticipated funding, which has not yet been awarded and for which no amount has been disclosed, is being deferred until later this year. The Gates Foundation launched the review after concerns emerged over contacts with Epstein. Since 2006, Buffett has donated more than $47 billion in Berkshire Hathaway stock to the foundation–the now-retired Oracle of Omaha’s largest philanthropic recipient.
