United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania has announced a $21 million multiyear funding commitment to 121 nonprofit organizations in Pittsburgh and across the surrounding Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Fayette, and Westmoreland counties. Through 2029, the investment will support 138 programs focused on basic needs, financial stability, educational success, and nonprofit capacity building. The awards follow a competitive grant process that drew a record 475 funding requests, reflecting rising demand for community services. UWSP also announced the launch of its campaign to raise an additional $40 million by 2027 to fund community investments, emergency response, and collaborative nonprofit initiatives.
