Carnegie Foundation awards $25M for libraries and civic engagement as part of U.S. 250th anniversary 

The newly renamed Andrew Carnegie Foundation has awarded $25 million in grants to support public libraries, civic participation, constructive dialogue, and arts and cultural programming across the United States. The grants aim to strengthen democratic engagement and community connections during America’s 250th anniversary. The fund is anchored by Carnegie Libraries 250, a $13.53 million initiative providing $10,000 unrestricted gifts to the 1,353 Carnegie Libraries still in operation nationwide. Additional grants support civic and cultural institutions including New York City’s Carnegie Hall and the New York Public Library.
