Piper Trust awards $24.7M to strengthen education, health, and housing across Maricopa County

The Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust has announced grants totaling $24.7 million to nonprofits and community partners across Arizona’s Maricopa County to advance education, healthcare, arts and culture, services for children and older adults, homelessness prevention, and religious initiatives. The funding includes $6 million in grants to six area colleges and universities, including Arizona State University and Maricopa Community Colleges; $1.5 million for homeless housing initiatives; $350,000 for 47 arts and culture organizations.; In addition, $920,000 was awarded as part of  the Piper Fellows leadership program. Now in its 25th year, the fellowships have supported the work of 131 nonprofit leaders since 2001.
