Stanford Medicine receives $10M from Alfred E. Mann Charities for pediatric health AI hub

Stanford University’s School of Medicine has announced a $10 million award from Alfred E. Mann Charities to create the Hub for Artificial Intelligence in Pediatric Medicine to accelerate AI innovation in children’s health. The funding will establish an endowed professorship and support recruitment of a world-class AI leader to unify pediatric AI research across the university and guide clinical deployment at Stanford’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. The initiative builds on existing efforts applying AI to improve pediatric MRI safety and speed, predict complications in premature birth, personalize cancer treatment, and support Type 1 diabetes care, strengthening Stanford’s position in translating AI-driven research into pediatric clinical impact.
