LDS Church, Bezos family commit $50M to UNICEF global child nutrition effort

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints committed $25 million to UNICEF that will be matched by the Bezos Family Foundation, creating a $50 million investment in global maternal and child nutrition programs. The multiyear commitment will support UNICEF’s Child Nutrition Fund, launched in 2023 with backing from the Gates Foundation, the United Kingdom, and the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation to reach 320 million women and children annually by 2030. The initiative funds malnutrition prevention, screening, vitamin distribution, and treatment efforts worldwide. The Bezos family’s matching program, capped at $500 million, is designed to accelerate philanthropic participation as the fund works toward its $2 billion fundraising goal.
