Pasadena schools receive $5M from Kaiser Permanente for Eaton Fire mental health trauma recovery 

Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, California. has announced a three-year, $5 million grant to Pasadena Unified School District to expand trauma-responsive mental and physical health services after California’s 2025 Eaton Fire. The initiative will fund counselors, clinical staff, wellness spaces, school health clinic expansion, and summer support programs for students and staff still reeling from the disaster. The fire killed 19 people, scorched more than 14,000 acres, and destroyed nearly 7,000 homes and businesses, leaving emotional and mental health challenges across the community. School administrators will leverage the funding to provide services to stabilize students so that learning and recovery can help children and their communities rebound from the disaster.
