Damon Runyon, St. Jude award $1.5M in childhood cancer fellowships across top U.S. cancer centers

Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital have announced multiyear fellowships totaling $1.5 million to five early-career researchers to advance pediatric cancer research. Recipients include Keene Abbott and Cary Weiss (both at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston); Abigail Clevenger (Rice University, Houston); Amy Li (Harvard Medical School, Boston); Emily Phillips (Washington University in St. Louis). Each fellow will receive $300,000 over four years. The funding supports ongoing research to address aggressive childhood cancers including Ewing sarcoma, leukemia, and renal cell carcinoma, focusing on precision therapies, immune engineering, and reduced toxicity.
