West Texas A&M receives anonymous alumna $3M for marching band scholarships

West Texas A&M University in Canyon has announced a $3 million gift from an anonymous alumna and her husband through the Prairie Thunder Foundation, to expand student opportunities in music and business. The gift includes $2.5 million for the Prairie Thunder Band Program, funding scholarships, program needs, and two professorships, including support for travel and recruiting. The remaining $500,000 establishes corporate culture experience endowment in the Engler College of Business, supporting student travel, company visits, conferences, and direct student engagement with business leaders to build professional networks and workplace experience.
