Parkinson’s Foundation commits $7.5M to accelerate research and treatment development

The Parkinson’s Foundation has announced a $7.5 million-plus grant package to 55 research recipients to support studies aimed at accelerating new therapies, treatments and a cure for Parkinson’s disease. The record investment funds innovative work across multiple research categories, including new Momentum and Environmental Trigger awards. One recipient, University of California, San Francisco will analyze nearly 30,000 participants to identify early-life environmental exposures linked to Parkinson’s. The grants are competitively peer-reviewed and expand foundational, translational, fellowship and early-career research, strengthening the pipeline for prevention and treatment breakthroughs.
