Andrew Carnegie, Schultz Family foundations launch $10M fund to expand national service

The Andrew Carnegie Foundation has announced the launched the Service United Fund, a philanthropic collaboration with the and the Schultz Family Foundation to help states expand paid service opportunities for young adults. Carnegie has committed $10 million to the program, which will provide grants of $100,000 to $1.5 million to help state governors develop service programs aligned with state priorities. The effort will support state-led approaches rather than a single national model. Launched alongside the National Governors Association’s Service United initiative, the fund aims to bolster workforce pathways, address community challenges including education, housing, mental health and public safety, and foster civic connection.
