Rocket Community Fund, the philanthropic arm of Rocket Mortgage, has announced a $3.5 million investment in DigitalC and the Detroit Housing Commission in Detroit, Michigan, to expand affordable, high-speed internet through the Detroit Last Mile Initiative. The investment, part of a $4.5 million gift tied to the Rocket Classic golf tournament, will extend DigitalC’s community-based broadband model beyond an existing pilot in three housing communities. The collaboration is expected to provide internet access to an additional 2,400 households (6,000 residents), advancing digital inclusion, workforce opportunity, education, and access to essential online services in underserved neighborhoods across Detroit.
