The McKnight Foundation has committed $6 million to the six Minnesota Initiative Foundations, providing $1 million to each–including $500,000 in expanded general operating support–for development initiates statewide. The flexible funding will strengthen place-based solutions across rural Minnesota by supporting priorities such as entrepreneurship, housing, childcare, workforce development, clean energy and community leadership. The general operating grants will help each independent regional foundation respond to emerging local needs while expanding long-term community investment.
