Virginia Tech receives $20M estate gift for architecture school from retired professor emeritus

Virginia Tech professor emeritus Salahuddin Choudhury and his wife, May Choudhury, have awarded $20 million to its College of Architecture, Arts and Design in Blacksburg, Virginia. The record-setting estate gift, the largest ever committed to the university’s architecture school, will endow resources for the college dean and School of Architecture director to strengthen academic leadership and keep the program at the forefront of architecture education. The funding is intended to support faculty excellence, enhance student experiences, and drive innovation in architectural education, extending the Choudhurys’ decades-long legacy of helping build Virginia Tech into a nationally recognized architecture program.
