The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research has announced a $5 million collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation’s Diagnostics Accelerator to advance minimally invasive biomarkers for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. The partnership will improve detection of key co-pathologies, including alpha-synuclein, supporting earlier diagnosis, better disease monitoring, stronger clinical trials and precision medicine. Building on prior research investments, the initiative will develop scalable tools to better understand disease biology and help match future therapies with patients most likely to benefit.
