FHLBank San Francisco boosts funding, awards $66M to build 2,900 affordable homes

The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco has announced grants totaling $66.3 million to support 45 affordable housing developments across Arizona, California, and Nevada, creating nearly 2,900 homes for low-income households. Delivered through partnerships with local member financial institutions, the grants will fund housing for seniors, mixed-income communities, and supportive housing for formerly unhoused individuals and families. The 2026 awards represent a nearly one-third increase from 2025, adding $16.6 million in funding and supporting the development of nearly 850 more homes. Since 1990, FHLBank San Francisco’s affordable housing grant program has supported the construction of nearly 160,000 affordable homes.
