The Montréal Thoracic Surgery Research Foundation has announced a combined C$10 million ($7.1M) award to University of Montréal Faculty of Medicine to endow the BMO–L. Jacques Ménard Chair in Thoracic Surgery. Supported by the foundation with funding from BMO Financial Group, the Ménard family, and other donors, the gift creates the largest endowed chair in the university’s history. The funding will accelerate research in organ preservation, transplantation, regenerative medicine, precision medicine, while supporting talent recruitment, clinician-scientist training, and the development of a transplantation research center of excellence at the University of Montreal Hospital Centre.
