Appalachia Service Project receives $5.5M for disaster resilience in Asheville, North Carolina  

The Appalachia Service Project, a Christian ministry nonprofit that repairs homes for low-income families in Central Appalachia, has received $5.5 million from the Home Depot Foundation to support disaster recovery and resilience efforts in Asheville, North Carolina. The grant will help ASP continue rebuilding homes for Hurricane Helene victims while supporting long-term housing stability. The funding is part of a wider Home Depot initiative to fund natural disaster preparedness programs that help expand volunteer capacity and community recovery infrastructure in partnership with Habitat for Humanity International, Team Rubicon, Operation Blessing, Inspiritus, and the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes.
